Hey everyone, welcome back! When we last caught up, I still had not gone to my first day of high school. But now it’s been a week, and if I’m being honest, it was a pretty good first week of high school. I’d give it a 7.5 out of 10. My first day I wore my skirt outfit, which I remember I was considering not wearing. I’m glad I did though, because I freaking loveee that fit. #gallaghergirl
My first day of high school was a little chaotic. It was a flurry of nerves and wandering around trying to find my friends in between classes, before school, etc. My first class is Wellness. While I do like my Wellness class because I have lots of friends in it and it seems pretty fun, I am a little annoyed that it's the first block. It seriously messed up not only my hair but also my makeup on Friday, so that’s gonna take some adjusting. Next class is Math, which on the second day I couldn’t find for some reason. Math is a little rough. I do have two of my good friends in it, but so far I’ve come to realize that it’s very quickly paced, and I’m going to have to put a lot of effort into learning algebra this year. But we’ll see how it goes.
Next up is Nutrition. I really love this class, even though I just have acquaintances in it. The teacher is so nice and friendly, and the whole prospect of getting to bake desserts and stuff is literally a dream come true. After Nutrition I have lunch. On the first day, I was seriously panicking because I thought I would have no friends to sit by, since the two I was planning on sitting next to were in Chorus and got moved to another lunch. Little did I know, I would end up having lunch with my friends Lyla and Willa- so that’s really good. Lastly, I have Science. I actually really enjoy my science class. My friends are all in it, plus the teacher is suuuuper nice. I know the material will take a lot of effort to learn, but I think overall it’ll be a good class.
So yeah- that’s what a day in my freshman year looks like! So far I’ve been loving high school. It’s such an upgrade from middle school. We have so much more freedom it’s crazy. Also, I just love the people I’m friends with right now and I can’t wait to see what the year will bring! But enough of that, let’s get into today’s post!
Today, I’ll be giving you guys two new oatmeal recipes! I just recently tried these recipes, which I found on Pinterest. I was surprised when I realized how quick and delicious they are. One is even microwavable! So stay tuned for some yummy new recipes ⇩
CINNAMON BANANA OATMEAL⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ingredients:
½ cup oats
1 cup milk
Mashed banana
Cinnamon
Directions:
Mash bananas in bowl (I just did this with a fork)
Mix in all ingredients in pot
Cook over medium heat for five minutes (I eventually switched to low heat)
Top with more cinnamon and sliced bananas
Review:
I loved this recipe because it tastes exactly like the microwave oatmeal you get in the package, but better because it’s natural and has cinnamon. I tasted so much banana and I loved it! The only reason it’s four stars instead of five is because I did have to cook it over the stove, and as you guys know, I’m lazy.
Ingredients:
⅓ cup oats
⅔ cup milk
Splash of vanilla
1 tbsp butter
1 spoon brown sugar
Cinnamon
Mix ins: chia seeds, fruit
Directions:
Combine milk, oats, vanilla, and butter in bowl
Microwave for 2 ½ minutes
Add brown sugar and cinnamon
Top with chia seeds and fruit (I used strawberries)
Review:
This is one of my favorite oatmeal recipes. It may seem hard to make, but I promise you, it takes only five minutes. I love this oatmeal with strawberries, because the pair is absolutely heavenly. 😋 The only thing is that the last time I made it, the oatmeal spilled out a little bit, so maybe do a little less milk.
So yeah, that’s it for today! Thank you guys so much for reading! Recently, I’ve been eating avocado toast every day before school, but I’m definitely going to be incorporating oatmeal- and if I have time- smoothies. I love you guys so much, have a great rest of your day! 😘
