The book of Luke | Blogmas Day 1

ho ho ho bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog! I’m so glad you’re here! I know it’s been a while, but I have exciting news TODAY. Starting with today, I’m kicking off Blogmas! From today until Christmas, I’ll have a post ready for you guys to read! I have so much Christmas content in store, and I can’t wait to share it with you guys!

Life update: I cannot believe it’s almost Christmas. For some reason, December has completely flown by. But it’s definitely been a month to remember. Some highlights have been working at parent’s night out, going to the choir christmas concert, wrapping gifts for STUCO, getting braces (not really a highlight but ya), passing Mrs. Furmman’s class with an A, waffle house, seeing Encanto, getting a TVD poster from my friend, and decorating cookies! I’ve already watched and read so many Christmas movies and books; I swear I’ve seen Home Alone 50 times already. I’ve also developed a strong (well stronger) obsession for One Direction and I’ve already made my plans for 2022, which I’m really excited about. Also, I’ve made it to season 3 of the Originals. So yeah, that’s what my life has looked like this past month. I’m doing pretty good!

I have more exciting news for today →I’ve officially finished reading the bible! I started it on December 22nd 2020, and finished December 21st 2021. I’m so grateful for all I’ve learned and how much I’ve grown this year. I just wanted to let you guys know that it’s not impossible! 😊 If you’re interested, I used The Bible Study plan by Zach Windahl. I highly recommend it! It was reasonable, and I thought Zach’s input was great. The two books were cute, with good questions. I would have like to have answers to some of the questions, but other than that, I give this plan five stars. You can buy it on the Brand Sunday website for around $50.

I wanted to mention that because to kick off Blogmas this year I’m going to talk about one of my favorite books of the bible and how it relates to Christmas. That book is…Luke!

I started this tradition last year. Basically, at the beginning to the end of December I read one chapter of Luke. The reason for this is because there are 24 chapters, and it’s basically a summary of Jesus’s life, starting at His birth and everything. It’s the perfect book to read if you’re looking to celebrate the reason for the season, and you’ll finish right before Jesus’s birthday! Last year, after I read a chapter of it, I’d write a quick one sentence summary in my journal. By the 24th, I had a little summary of His life. I got this idea from pinterest I think, so I will link the pin. I honestly love this tradition and I encourage you guys to try it!

Here’s the pin:

And here’s a plan made my me!:

Lastly, here’s some verses I liked from the book of Luke:

Luke 6:37- “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

Luke 12:34- “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Luke 19:10- “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Luke 6:27- “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you”

Luke 1:37- “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

Luke 3:22- “And the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

Thank you guys so much for reading! Hopefully you maybe got a new tradition from this post or came across a bible verse you liked. I love you all so much and I can’t wait to share the holidays with you!

Xoxo, Brynn
