Top Five Most Haunted Cities in America | Blogtober Day 2

-Just a little disclaimer: I wrote this post a couple days back in case you’re confused-

Hi everybody and welcome back! Right now I am on my way to Savannah, GA! It’s a 7 hour drive and currently we are about halfway there. I’m so glad we’re going on vacation, and I can’t wait till we get there! I’m having fun watching Halloween movies 👻 and listening to Glee. But enough about me, let’s get on with this post!

You’ve probably heard of haunted houses before, and if you’re really brave, you might have even stayed in one. But did you know there are whole cities that have been claimed to be haunted? Ghost sightings, murders, and more spookiness has been reported in many cities in good ol America. Have you ever been to one?

Top Five Most Haunted Cities in America:

  • Baltimore- If you pay attention in history you probably know that many battles have been fought in Baltimore, including The Civil War, Battle of Baltimore, and American Revolution. So as you can imagine, a lot have died there, provoking many ghost sightings. It is even the final resting place of Edgar Allen Poe, the famous spooky writer. If you go here, you can visit the Admiral Fell Inn, where you can receive a free ghost tour.

  • Portland, Oregon- Legend goes that beneath the streets of this old town lies the Shanghai tunnels, where men who came to work were kidnapped or “shanghaied” and were smuggled to the waterfront and sold to sea captains. Now people go on tours in the underground paths to locate spirits, such as “Nina.”

  • New Orleans- 42 is the number of cemeteries located within this city. Need I say more? Still, it is said that ghosts from the war of 1812 still haunt the French Quarter, and people visit the grave of voodoo queen Marie Laveau looking for advice. Furthermore, Hotel Monteleone has spirits of children playing, and an elevator that conveniently stops on the wrong floor.

  • Galveston, Texas- Known for the devastating hurricane that blew through this town like bull in a china shop, Galveston suffered a loss of 8,000 lives during the deadliest natural disaster in U.S history. Ghost hunters say town spirits still linger. During the spooky season the historical foundation hosts many ghost tours that you can go visit. Speaking of visit, the Tremont House Hotel is known for its Victorian-era murder, and Hotel Galvez has seen dishes randomly breaking, children’s laughter, and even a ghost bride. Considering staying in these hotels now?

  • Savannah, Georgia- Yes, I am about to stay in one of the most haunted cities in the world. What a way to celebrate Halloween, am I right? Savannah is literally built on the dead. From the research I have uncovered, it is an actual fact that bones lie beneath the cobblestone streets of this otherwise cute little city. But don’t be deceived by the charming shops and ancient houses. Savannah is known for its repeated ghost sightings in windows and interviews, as well as the paranormal experiences and murders. Wars, hurricanes, fires, yellow fever, and more have left body upon body in the many cemeteries that extend beyond the gates and into the streets.

Something tells me this is going to be a very spooky Halloween for

me...Comment below-would you ever knowingly stay in a haunted city? Hope everyone is having a great fall break, and that you enjoyed this post! If you did, give it a heart (which is more than a ghost can say it has haha) and I’ll see you guys later!
